Get in Shape for your Wedding
Pre Wedding Fitness Tips
Fitting into your wedding dress and looking fantastic on the biggest, and most important day of your life is every woman’s dream.
As a personal trainer I have been privileged to help many women achieve this once in a lifetime goal.
All too often, these clients turn to my services as a final resort, when either they have tried and failed at following a diet and exercise plan or have failed to start one at all!
The amount of stress this causes for the bride to be can easily be avoided and the result obtained in a much more controlled and sustainable manor.
I have chosen to share exclusively with yorkshireweddingforum.co.uk:
5 key strategies that will ensure you look and feel amazing on the biggest and most important day of your life!
Implementing these 5 free tips now will ensure that nothing is left to chance in the run up to your big day.
1. Plan ahead
Ok, this might sound obvious but all too often I see the bride’s diet and exercise regime pushed to the back of the list. If you have booked the church you now have a definitive date to aim for. This is the goal around which we will plan your transformation.
My Ultimate Bridal Body Challenge program proves that three months is the optimum amount of time needed to achieve life changing results. This time frame allows us to achieve the majority of weight loss and toning goals.
2. Do not stress!!!!!
I have lost count at the number of times I have had to calm down busy brides to be, too much energy is wasted focusing on a negative result, energy that could be harnessed and used to motivate you and ensure you don’t just achieve your chosen goal you smash them and achieve results you once thought were impossible.
Stress can mess up your weight loss goals ‘big time’! Sure getting married is a very stressful time in any woman’s life but avoiding stressing about your weight loss will lessen that load dramatically.
Chronic stress will inevitably promote an increase in the ‘stress hormone’ Cortisol. This has many negative and damaging effects on weight loss, such as- • Suppressed Thyroid function • Blood sugar imbalances causing sweet cravings • Decrease in lean muscle tissue • Increased levels of abdominal fat
I’m sure you’ll agree with me that these are all very damaging effects and serve only to stack the odds firmly against you, no mater how hard you work out.
3. High Intensity/ Short Duration workout session
The key to rapid fat loss, following this principal of four, 30 minute sessions per week, each session combining body weight training, resistance training, core stability exercise and more importantly intensity, will ensure your metabolism is set alight and you results sky rocket.
Here is a quick 5 minute fat blasting circuit for you to try now!
• Press ups – 60 seconds • Body weight squats – 60 seconds • Alternate punches – 60 seconds • Squats – 60 seconds • Plank – 60 seconds

4. Nutrition- You are what you eat! I could write a book on the importance of this subject alone. For the purpose of this article though I will keep it simple and straight to the point, hopefully giving you some golden nuggets you can begin using right away.
• Always eat protein and complex carbohydrates at every meal This will ensure you maintain a constant, neutral blood sugar level. You will feel fuller for longer and eradicate the craving for sweet sugary snacks. Tip- Always ask “where is the protein”?
• Avoid Sugar Sugar is the biggest cause of fat storage on the body, especially around the belly. Avoid sugars which are always found in processed foods and those which claim they are ‘fat free or low in fat’. A quick tip- read the food label, if an ingredient ends with the letters ‘ose’ it’s a sugar!
• Eat more to lose more The chances are that if I analysed what you were eating over a 7 day period I would find that you probably weren’t actually consuming enough of your daily calorie allowance. Never mind trying to burn extra calories, try feeding your self with enough high quality calories from foods such as leafy vegetables, green fruits, lean meats, oily fish and nuts and seeds. Only then will you be fuelling your metabolism with the correct amount of calories to eat your fat clean off!
5. Turn to a professional
• Hairdresser- Check • Dress designer- Check • Wedding planner- Check • Toast Master- Check • Caterer- Check • Chocolate fountain- Check (we all love a chocolate fountain)! • DJ- Check
All professionals that will ensure that your biggest and most important day runs smoothly, leaving you to enjoy the day and months of planning, panic and worry.
Why then when it comes to the most important factor; you looking amazing, do people chose take the DIY approach?
Statistics show that the average cost for a traditional wedding is a staggering £15.500. Which is an investment well made considering you’re signing up for a lifetime (or are supposed to be!). Now if I told you that I could guarantee that you looked amazing on the big day would you be interested? If I also told you that for less than 10% of that £15.500 budget you could have the body you always dreamed of and the wedding photos to prove it, would you be interested?
Well, you can, and you can have it for even less than 5% of that if you have the self motivation!
I have analysed the results, training sessions, eating plans and goals of all the brides to be that I have helped in the past, to create; The Ultimate Bridal Body Challenge. This is a packages personally tailored towards your own personal goal, ensuring that you look and feel amazing in your wedding dress!
